Guanella Pass - Fall Colors 2022
Gloria G. has once again stepped forward to lead a fall colors drive! The planned drive is ~3-4 hours including a couple of stops and return to Denver. See below for details, maps, etc.

About the Event
Turn by turn directions are provided in the link below. We'll start at the Phillips 66 off C-470 and Morrison Rd (there's ample parking along the road beside the station). We'll follow CO-74 a short while to CO-8 to US-285. After a short bit we'll turn onto Parmalee Gulch Rd to Kittredge. From Kittredge we'll take CO-74 to CO-103, Squaw Pass Road. Squaw Pass Rd is a fun drive to the entrance to Mt. Evans where we'll stop at Echo Lake Lodge for a rest break.
After our break, we continue on CO-103 to I-70. A short drive on I-70 (ugh) and we'll stop at Georgetown Lake for a BYO Lunch break. There's fast food nearby. From Georgetown we'll take Guanella Pass Rd to the summit near the Mt Bierstadt Trailhead parking area. Sometimes this area is pretty crowded - we'll see.
From Guanella Pass some folks will continue over the pass and return to Denver via US-285. Others may want to double back to I-70 and points north.
This is September in Colorado, so dress accordingly!! We have no control over the weather, traffic, or the aspen leaves!
