We're doing it again. If you've never experienced "the road into the sky", you're missing out! This is one of the most scenic drives in the country and is the highest paved road in North America. It's an epic drive, especially with the top down, climbing about 9,000 feet in 23 miles.

About the Event
Meetup: Meet at 9:00am at the Doghead Rail Bridge Trailhead Parking lot off I-70. The GPS address is 964-970 East Idaho Springs Road Evergreen, CO 80439. We will leave at 9:30am sharp. We want to have enough time to enjoy the drive and still get off the mountain no later than mid-afternoon to avoid possible inclement weather. The drive from Doghead to the Welcome Center is about an hour and is a great one too. We'll lunch in Idaho Springs or Evergreen, location TBD.
IMPORTANT: Be sure to make your own reservation for the Summit Area after July 11 at this site: https://www.recreation.gov/timed-entry/10087438. Reserve the 10:00-12:00 entry window. Don't delay in making your reservations as they are limited and no tickets available at the Welcome Center.. Print your ticket out ahead of time (or download to your phone) as there is no cell phone signal.
We'll take a leisurely drive up to the top and plan to be off the mountain by mid afternoon. Bring a jacket as it can be very cool up there. And bring a hat/sunblock and plenty to drink to avoid dehydration.
