Rescheduled! “Nearly Normal” Spring Drive

Definitely a go for this Saturday, 3/26! Covid is waning, the temperature is warming, and we're ready for a drive! So let’s enjoy a short drive from Longmont, up to Peak to Peak Hiway, then down to Boulder for a lunch/beer at Avery Brewing and a visit to the Shelby American Museum.

No RSVP Required
Hope to see you there.

About the Event

Let's try again!  Ward doesn't have a foot of snow and the roads are dry.  So we’ll meet in the usual North Longmont Walmart (Main St.) parking lot (on the south side of the lot).  We’ll have intros and a drivers’ meeting at 9:45 and leave promptly at 10:00.  There are no public restrooms until lunch, so take care of that!

Unfortunately, CDOT has closed CO-7 from Lyons to CO-72.  So we’ll be creative (see map) and take Left Hand Canyon and Overland Road up to CO-72, then go down thru Ward to north Boulder via Lee Hill Drive.  It’s a different route with plenty of twists and turns.  Be warned that there are about 3 miles of dirt road.  It’s a good road, but may be muddy with snow melt.  So you might want to resist the peer pressure to wash your car before the drive.

We should arrive at Avery Brewing about 11:30-12:00.  There is plenty of parking and outdoor seating, plus some indoor seating.  However, they don’t take reservations, so we may have to wait a while.  After lunch, about ¼ mile away is the Shelby American Collection. It’s small and limited to mostly shinny blue Shelby Cobras, but for $5 it’s worth a stop.  After that, everyone can individually find their way home.

If you have questions, send me an email at glhalcomb@gmail.com.  If weather does not cooperate, we'll reschedule for ???? .  But right now it looks good, so won’t you join us?
