Multi-Day Drive Ideas

The club enjoys longer drives! We've done drives to Yellowstone, the Four Corners, the Sand Dunes, the Western Slope, and more. People have plans, so these drives should get on the Event calendar as early as possible.

Multi-day drives do entail logistics - complex routes, hotels, meals, attractions, and entertainment. It helps to have an experienced co-sponsor to give advice, assist with reservations, member contacts, etc. We have several "mentors" that can help. Send a Contact Us request and we'll be in touch.

Here are some ideas that have been offered by members, many of which we've done:

  • Western Slope: Flyin' Miata, Palisades Peaches & Wine, CO National Monument, Thelma & Louise Tour

  • Southwest CO: Ouray, Silverton, Telluride, Durango, Mesa Verde, Four Corners

  • San Juans: Alamosa, Sand Dunes, La Veta Train, Cumbres and Toltec Scenic Railroad

  • Southeast Colorado:Bent’s Fort, Camp Amache, the Japanese internment camp. Sand Creek Massacre National Historic Site. Koshare Indian Museum self guided tour in La Junta.

  • Weekend in Saratoga, WY, at the Saratoga Inn or Wolf Hotel

  • Crane Festival in Monte Vista or Nebraska in April

  • Black Forest /Larkspur

  • Wyoming: Yellowstone

  • New Mexico: Santa Fe, Taos, Red River

  • Nebraska: Scotts Bluff, Carhenge. Fort Robinson

Please respond with your own ideas. We'll add them to this post. Or better yet, PLAN A DRIVE!
